The 3.1 content patch introduced Dual Specs to the game and thus the following are rules on how dual specing should be followed for raiding purposes:
- All players who choose to dual spec must declare a main spec and off spec. This applies to all main characters as well as alternate characters. What you make your main and off spec is your choice.
- No player is required to have an off spec, only a main spec declared. There are no special privleges that put players with off specs over players with main specs.
- Priority for signups for all players in relationship to dual specs is as follows:
Main Character/Main Spec > Main Character/Off Spec > Alternate Character/Main Spec > Alternate Character/Off sec
NOTE: The same priority is given for loot distribution, but players after players win one item for their off spec should be considerate of Alternates there to help and be generous.
- Players should consult their Class Champions and Class Forums for specific rules about their class and spec switching policy during raids and declaring their spec. Each class has their own rules for when its a appropriate to switch. If you are in doubt during the raid consult the Raid Leader.
- Switching your Main Spec and/or Off Spec may result in the 3/6/9 lockdown rule, which will lock you into that main and off spec for 3, 6 or 9 months. Class Champions will decide when your spec choice will invoke this rule or not. Always consult your Class Champion when switching your spec after you have declared one already.
